Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and any vehicle identification numbers (VINs) or other recall identifiers you choose to save (for vehicles, products, food, or therapeutic goods). We also collect basic usage analytics (page views, search queries) to improve the service. We do not collect your name, phone number, or payment details unless you choose to provide them in future.

2. How we use your data

  • To check your saved items (vehicles, products, etc.) against recall records and display results
  • To send you email notifications when a new recall matches your saved items
  • To improve RecallAU (aggregated, anonymised usage data only)

3. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share anonymised, aggregated statistics (e.g. “X% of searched items have an open recall”) with third parties. Your email, VINs, and saved recall identifiers are never shared with third parties except where required by law or with your explicit consent.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely on servers located in Australia (Supabase, Sydney region). We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel only.

5. Your rights

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
