Defect

Some of the above vehicles may experience the diesel fuel heater electrical connector to overheat and cause a fuel leak.

Hazard

The diesel fuel heater housing at the fuel heater electrical connector may overheat, leading to the failure of the O-rings that seals the male electrical terminals in the diesel fuel filter/ heater assembly. This could cause underhood smoke and/or an engine compartment fire.

Remedy

Chrysler Jeep will notify owners who take their vehicle to a Jeep dealership whereby the diesel fuel heater connector will be replaced.
