Defect

In certain operating conditions vehicles equipped with a SPL250 driveshaft and specific Meritor rear axles may experience rear axle yoke failure potentially causing the driveshaft to disconnect.

Hazard

If the rear axle yoke fails, the disconnected driveshaft may create a hazard for road users.

Remedy

Volvo Group Australia has begun contacting all impacted owners by direct mail to arrange inspection of the rear axle and replacement if required. If a customer has concerns about their vehicle, they should contact their nearest authorised Volvo Group Australia repairing dealer, or call 07 3718 3500 or email vga.warranty@volvo.com for more information.
