The angle of the taper surface when fitted to the generator rotor may be out of specification with the crankshaft. This may place continued load on the key groove on the taper surface of the crank shaft, which could cause damage to the engine.
In the worst case scenario the engine could stop while the motorcycle is being ridden, posing a risk of vehicle accident for the rider and other road users.
