Defect

Volkswagen AG has established that on Crafter vehicles of a limited production period, the earth ring of the damper weight on the propshaft can loosen.

Hazard

Should this situation occur, it cannot be ruled out that the mounting of the propshaft on the gearbox may break free and potentially cause serious damage under the vehicle. Furthermore, there is a danger that the driver may lose control and have an accident.

Remedy

A letter is being sent to affected owners of the vehicles. For further information, customers can contact their local Volkswagen Authorised Service Centre.
