Defect

Early wear on the auxiliary belt tensioner.

Hazard

A worn auxiliary belt tensioner may lead to excessive noise, immobilise the vehicle and cause loss of power-steering assistance.

Remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by letter. Owners are advised to contact their authorised Volvo dealer to have the auxiliary belt tensioner replaced.
