Defect

The main switch wire lead is routed near a metal cable guide located on the steering head. Through normal use, there is a possibility that the wire lead may be worn by the metal guide.

Hazard

If the wire lead is worn by the metal guide, this may potentially result in an electrical shortage between the lead and the main frame.

Remedy

Consumers will be contacted directly by mail. Consumers should contact their local Yamaha dealer to arrange for a repair of the motorcycle. Consumers can contact Yamaha Motor Australia by visiting http://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ or calling 1300 593 600. If you no longer own the motorcycle, please advise Yamaha Motor Australia on 1300 593 600.
