Defect

The retaining clip of the transmission oil cooler line to the in tank oil cooler may fail. The transmission fluid cooler hose may disengage allowing transmission fluid to leak, which could result in a fluid leak. If a rapid loss of transmission fluid occurred, it could lead to fluid on the road which may present a risk of a motor vehicle hitting the fluid and causing loss of control.

Hazard

Loss of vehicle control can increase the risk of a crash and injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

Remedy

Affected owners should contact an authorised Western Star Truck Dealer to arrange a repair.
