Defect

The affected carpet mat in the driver's footwell may interfere with the accelorator pedal.

Hazard

The Driver's carpet mat may interfere with the accelerator pedal and could potentially result in the engine not returning to idle.

Remedy

Owners of affected mats should, as soon as possible, arrange with an Authorised Ford Dealer for the driver's mat to be replaced. Until the Safety Recall Service is complete the driver's carpet mat should be removed from the driver's footwell area. For further information, contact any Authorised Ford Dealer or Ford's Customer Relationship Centre on 1800 503 672.
