Category: Light Vehicle ยท Supplier: Subaru (Aust) Pty Limited
Recall date: 15 July 2010
A limited number of 6MT gearboxes were produced without a necessary lubrication supply passage. The lubrication passage is designed to ensure longevity of the transmission, and no damage is sustained during the short term as a result of the passage not being present.
Insufficient supply of lubricant to the 6MT gearbox main-shaft may cause, in the longer term (greater than 10,000 kms), fretting of the 3rd and 4th gear components and eventual failure of the 3rd driving and driven gears.
Known owners will be contacted by mail and asked to take their vehicle to an authorised Subaru retailer for inspection and rectification if necessary.
