Category: Light Vehicle · Supplier: Aston Martin
Recall date: 22 July 2014
A number of Aston Martin DB9 and Rapide S vehicles contain printed circuit boards (“PCB”) within the transmission control switches, which may be defective. If the vehicle is affected the transmission will revert to neutral gear without driver input for gear selection.
If the defect occurs, this will cause a loss of power. Specifically, the driver will be unable to maintain or increase speed. This may pose a hazard to the vehicle occupants and other road users. All other functions of the vehicle (steering, braking, etc.) remain fully active.
Owners of all potentially affected vehicles will be notified to take their vehicle to an Aston Martin dealer. The transmission control switches on the affected vehicles will be replaced with new switches at no cost to the owner.
