Defect

The propeller shaft on affected vehicles has a weld seam connecting the propeller shaft head with the universal joint to the propeller shaft, including a sliding piece. This weld seam could potentially crack.

Hazard

If the weld seam fails, the propeller shaft will break, damaging or destroying parts of the vehicle. Component parts may separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of an accident.

Remedy

Affected owners should call 1300 323 722 to be connected to their nearest authorised Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Dealership to make arrangements to have the propeller shaft replaced.
