Recall date: 3 July 2007
Engineering investigations have identified a concern with the front suspension strut to knuckle clamping bolt torque. Due to variations in surface finish of the knuckle material in combination with low torque of the clamping bolt, it may be possible for the strut to move in the knuckle. Movement of the strut in the knuckle could possibly result in the tyre contacting the wheel arch or in FWD vehicles the strut contacting the driveshaft.
Malfunction.
Ford will write to customers regarding this concern.
