Defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the high voltage battery does not meet specifications and may result in an electrical short circuit. If this occurs it may result in a vehicle fire.

Hazard

A vehicle fire may increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property.

Remedy

BMW Group Australia or a BMW dealer will contact owners of affected vehicles to schedule an appointment to have the work carried out free of charge. You can locate your closest authorised BMW Dealer at www.bmw.com.au/dealers or call the BMW Australia Recall Hotline on 1800 243 675. For further information and to contact a preferred authorised BMW Dealer service centre via the web, consumers can utilise the BMW Australia recall webpage and use either the vehicle's VIN or registration to check the vehicle has an outstanding safety recall or technical action. www.recall.bmw.com.au.
