Category: Light Vehicle · Supplier: Hyundai Motor Company Pty Ltd
Recall date: 5 September 2022
Due to a manufacturing defect, the hydrogen gas detection sensors may deteriorate over time. This may lead to a failure to detect gas leaks and illuminate the warning light to the operator/driver.
In the event of a gas leak, failure to alert the operator/driver increases the risk of fire. This could cause serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Hyundai Motor Company Australia in writing, requesting to make an appointment with their preferred authorised Hyundai dealership to have the component inspected and rectified, free of charge.
