Defect

Due to a manufacturing issue, the seat backrest locking mechanisms in the third row may not have been installed correctly and may fail. In the event of an accident or hard braking the rear seat backrest could collapse towards the passengers.

Hazard

If the rear seat backrest collapses towards the passengers unintentionally, it could increase the risk of injury or death to the vehicle occupants.

Remedy

Owners of affected vehicles can contact their most convenient Mercedes-Benz Retailer to have the work carried out as soon as possible.
