Defect

The heater core element may operate at a higher than intended temperature causing damage to the electrical connector. If this occurs it may result in a vehicle fire.

Hazard

A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants or other road users.

Remedy

Owners can contact their local Kia dealership to schedule an appointment to have heater control relay replaced, the heater core element and connector inspected and replaced if damaged free of charge.
