Defect

Due to a software fault, the visual and acoustic seat belt warning system may not operate as intended.

Hazard

If the driver is not made aware of an unfastened seatbelt, there is an increased risk of injury or death if the vehicle is involved in an accident.

Remedy

Owners of affected vehicles can contact their preferred Volkswagen dealership to schedule an appointment to have the vehicle inspected and rectified, free of charge.
