Recall date: 24 April 2023
Due to an installation issue, certain 7-seat vehicles may have a latch installed with a defective weld in the second-row seat frame which will stop the seat from securing into the seat latch, this may also impact the operation of the ISOFIX child car restraint when used. If the seat is not secured by the latch a warning light will display on the instrument cluster.
In the event of a crash, sudden or unexpected braking, if the second-row seat is in use and the occupant is not using the body mounted side mounted seat belt, such as where a child seat is installed using LATCH/ISOFIX or the passenger is occupying the centre seat only, there is an increased risk of serious injury or death to the vehicle occupants or other road users.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Jaguar Land Rover Australia to arrange rear seat base latch inspection. Where rectification is required the rear seat frame and associated components will be replaced, free of charge.
