Category: Light Vehicle · Supplier: MERCEDES-BENZ AUSTRALIA/PACIFIC PTY LTD
Recall date: 20 May 2024
Due to a manufacturing defect, the driver’s side B-pillar may not have been welded to the required specification. As a result, the reinforcement in pillar may become loose over time and could fail to transmit the seat belt forces to the B-pillar as intended.
In the event of an accident, if the seat belt does not operate as intended, the occupant may not receive the full protection of the seatbelt system and this could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.
Owners of affected vehicles can contact their nearest authorised Mercedes-Benz dealership to have the work carried out as soon as possible, free of charge.
