Category: Light Vehicle · Supplier: MERCEDES-BENZ AUSTRALIA/PACIFIC PTY LTD
Recall date: 10 November 2025
The high voltage battery may short circuit if charged over 80 percent capacity. If this occurs, the battery could overheat and lead to a vehicle fire. Our ongoing and intensive field monitoring, along with further comprehensive analysis, has shown that the software update carried out as part of this recall does not eliminate the fire risk.
A vehicle fire could increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users, and bystanders, and/or damage to property.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Mercedes-Benz when a replacement battery is available. Note: Until the battery is replaced in your vehicle, do not charge your vehicle's high-voltage battery above 80% and park your vehicle outside. You can adjust the maximum charging level in your vehicle's MBUX system or in your Mercedes-Benz app that is linked to your vehicle.
