The high voltage battery may short circuit if charged over 80 percent capacity. If this occurs, the battery could overheat and lead to a vehicle fire. Our ongoing and intensive field monitoring, along with further comprehensive analysis, has shown that the software update carried out as part of this recall does not eliminate the fire risk.

As a result, if these nuts are used on the spare tyre, the clamping force between the nut and spare tyre may not have sufficient torque. This may result in the wheel becoming loose, detaching and/or cause deflation of the tyre resulting in a loss of trailer control whilst driving.
