2024–2025 Ford Transit Custom

The vehicle's owner manual contains incorrect information regarding the location of the child seat top tether anchor point. As a result, the user may not be able to locate the appropriate anchor point for attaching the child seat top tether strap.

2023 Ford PUMA

During the manufacturing process, the Restraint Control Module (RCM) was loaded with an incorrect configuration. As a result, if an incorrect replacement part is installed in the system, warnings will not be displayed and the seatbelt pretensioners and airbags may not perform as intended in the event of an accident.

2021–2023 Ford Mustang

Due to a software issue, the brake fluid warning light may not illuminate as intended to warn the driver if the brake fluid level is low. As a result, insufficient brake fluid could lead to a reduction in braking performance.

2022 Ford RANGER and EVEREST

Due to a software issue, under certain circumstances if the battery level drops below a critical threshold, the transmission may shift into Park when the vehicle is travelling at speeds below 6 km/h. This may cause a sudden stop without the rear brake lamps illuminating as intended.

2024–2025 Ford MACH-E

Due to a potential fault in the Light Emitting Diode (LED) Driver Control Module (LDCM) this module may fail. As a result, high beam, low beam, position lamps and daytime running lamps may not operate as intended.

2021–2023 Ford F-150 Lightning LIGHTNING LARIAT, LIGHTNING PLATINUM

Due to a manufacturing defect, moisture may enter the rear light bar assembly unit. This can cause the reverse lamps to become inoperative or to flicker intermittently.

2021–2025 Ford Transit Battery Electric Vehicles

Due to a manufacturing defect, the left-hand rear drive shaft may have been incorrectly installed. As a result, it could lead to a loss of motive power whilst driving and/or unintended vehicle movement while the vehicle is in park if the parking brake is not applied.

2021–2025 Ford Transit Custom / Tourneo

Due to a manufacturing defect, the 12-volt battery vent may not operate as intended. As a result, under certain driving conditions such as high temperatures toxic gases may leak into the cabin. Note: Occupants may experience hissing sound, smell of acid or rotten eggs, a visible gas leak and/or heat in seat.

2019–2023 Ford Escape PHEV

Due to a manufacturing issue, the cell modules installed in the high voltage battery may be defective, which could cause an internal short circuit. A short circuit could result in a loss of motive power. A short circuit could also result in battery thermal venting while charging leading to a vehicle fire. Note: Do not plug in and charge the high voltage battery to above 80% level and only drive in auto EV mode.

2024–2025 Ford Transit

Due to a manufacturing defect, the main body wiring harness may chafe against the transmission housing and become damaged. If this occurs, it could lead to a short circuit resulting in a vehicle fire.

2019–2025 Ford Ranger, Everest and F150

Due to a manufacturing defect, moisture may enter the ARB Solis lights wiring harness causing corrosion. If this occurs, it could generate excessive heat leading to a vehicle fire while parked or driving. Note: Affected vehicles should be parked in an open space and away from flammable materials and structures, until the defect has been rectified by Ford dealership.

2023 Ford F150

Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel vapour line may come into contact with the coolant hose and become damaged. This may result in a fuel smell and/or a coolant leak and may cause an engine compartment fire. In addition, the vehicle may experience excessive coolant consumption, lack of heater performance, reduced engine performance and drivability issues. Note: If excessive coolant consumption occurs, the malfunction indicator warning light will display in the instrument cluster.

2023–2025 Ford MUSTANG

The affected vehicles are provided with supercharger upgrade kits that include a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) that may experience a software error and disable functional safety features. This may result in unintended acceleration and/or vehicle movement.

2021–2025 Ford E-TRANSIT

Due to a manufacturing defect, the 12-volt battery vent may not operate as intended. As a result, under certain driving conditions such as high temperatures toxic gases may leak into the cabin. Due to a software issue, the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) may fail to illuminate the visual and audible warnings for seat belt, vehicle speed, fuel level, engine status and other critical safety information.

2015–2018 Ford MUSTANG

Due to a manufacturing issue, the rear-view camera may not display the rear-view image whilst reversing as intended.

2022–2025 Ford Mustang

Due to a manufacturing defect, the Body Control Module (BCM) may be susceptible to water ingress. As a result, the front and rear side marker lamps, taillamps, and license plate lamps may not operate as intended.

2024–2025 Ford Super Duty

Due to a software issue, when the vehicle starts the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) may fail to illuminate visual critical safety information upon start-up.

2020–2022 Ford F150

Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear wheel hub bolts may become loose or break causing damage to the wheel axle and axle hub splines over time. This could result in the vehicle moving whilst engaged in park position or a loss of motive power. Note: A broken wheel hub bolt will not result in wheel separation.

2024–2025 Ford Ranger

Due to a software issue, the brake boost function may not operate as intended. As a result, braking could be reduced requiring greater pedal force and potentially increasing the vehicle’s stopping distance. Note: If this occurs, the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Brake telltales will illuminate warning lights and audible alert on the instrument cluster.

2021 Ford Everest

Due to a manufacturing defect, the tow bar hitch may not have been welded to the required specifications and could detach from the tow bar whilst driving. Note: Whilst towing a caravan/trailer, it would remain attached to the tow vehicle if the safety chains have been correctly fitted.

2025 Ford Mustang, Mach E

Due to a programming issue, the Light Emitting Diode Driver Control Module (LDM) may fail. As a result, high beam, low beam, position lamps and daytime running lamps may not operate as intended.

2025 Ford MUSTANG, RANGER, EVEREST

Due to a manufacturing defect, the transmission main valve body may not meet engineering specifications. As a result, when the gear selector is placed into the reverse position the vehicle may fail to reverse and/or move forward inadvertently when placed into reverse or neutral position.    Note: The Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) and Wrench light will illuminate when the malfunction occurs.

2023–2025 Ford F-150

Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear wheel hub bolts may become loose or break causing damage to the wheel axle and axle hub splines over time. Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel pump impeller may not operate as intended. If this occurs, it could impair the fuel supply to the engine and result in a loss of motive power whilst driving.

2018–2023 Ford Endure, Escape, Range, Mustang and Focus

Due to an error in the SYNC software, the rear-view camera may not display the rear-view image whilst reversing or the rear-view image may remain on display after reversing. Additionally, this may cause the infotainment screen to display a blank image, an incorrect language setting, and/or potential inability to perform software updates.

2023–2025 Ford Transit Custom / Tourneo

Due to a manufacturing issue, the passenger airbag inflator may rupture in the event of airbag deployment.

2023–2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E

Due to a software issue, if the occupants exit the driver and/or front passenger doors using the interior mechanical release handles when the12 volt battery is discharged and the doors are in lock status, the doors may remain locked when they are re-closed. If this occurs, the key fob, interior and exterior handles will not unlock the doors.

2024–2025 Ford Transit Custom / Tourneo

Due to a manufacturing defect, the child lock feature on the dual power sliding door may not operate as intended. As a result, the sliding door may be opened from the inside using the interior handle.

2022–2024 Ford EVEREST

Due to a software issue, if a vehicle occupant places an obstruction such as a body part in the window space when the driver or passenger side windows are closing, the window may not automatically reverse and may exert an upward force greater than the design intent.

2022–2024 Ford Mach E, F 150, Ranger, Everest, Mustang, Transit and Transit Custom Vehicles

Due to a software issue, the rear-view camera may not display the rear-view image whilst reversing as intended.

2021–2024 Ford PUMA

Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel line sleeve may chafe against the support bracket and become damaged. If this occurs fuel may leak, potentially resulting in loss of motive power while driving, and if in the presence of an external ignition source may result in a vehicle fire.

2022–2025 Ford RANGER & EVEREST Everest 3.0L Lion Engine

Due to a manufacturing defect, the left-hand engine camshaft sprocket may fracture. As a result, the engine could stall leading to a sudden loss of motive power whilst driving.

2019–2023 Ford Escape PHEV

Due to a manufacturing issue, there may be a defect in one or more cells within the high voltage battery. As a result, this could cause an internal short circuit leading to a loss of motive power whilst driving. Note: Drivers will be alerted by "Stop Safely Now” in the instrument cluster if a loss of motive power occurs. The vehicle may also experience battery thermal venting, potentially resulting in a vehicle fire.

2024 Ford MUSTANG

Due to a software issue, the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) may fail to illuminate the visual and audible seat belt warnings, vehicle speed, fuel level, engine status, and other critical safety information.

2022–2024 Ford Everest and Transit Custom Vehicles

Due to a software issue, if a vehicle occupant places an obstruction such as a body part in the window space when the driver or passenger side windows are closing, the auto reverse function may not operate until significant pressure is applied.

2021–2022 Ford Ranger

Due to a software issue, the engine may generate more soot than intended which could cause the vehicle to trigger more frequent regenerations of Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). This could result in the vehicle producing emissions outside the requirements of Emissions Standards Regulations. This may also lead to potential failure of the DPF.

2021–2023 Ford F150 F150 RHD Lariat SWB

The courtesy lamps, fog lamps and daytime running lamps fitted in the vehicle do not comply with the requirements set out under Australian Design Rule (ADR) 13/00 - Installation of Lighting and Light-signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles. In addition, if the driver of the vehicle actively chooses to disable the Pre-Collision Assist (PCA) feature (which includes the Autonomous Emergency Brake (AEB) function) the AEB will not reactivate after an ignition cycle as per the requirements set out under ADR 98/00 - Advanced Emergency Braking for Passenger Vehicles and Light Goods Vehicles.

2022–2023 Ford F150 F150 RHD XLT SWB Variants

The courtesy lamps fitted in the vehicle do not comply with the requirements set out under Australian Design Rule (ADR) 13/00 - Installation of Lighting and Light-signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles. In addition, if the driver of the vehicle actively chooses to disable the Pre-Collision Assist (PCA) feature (which includes the Autonomous Emergency Brake (AEB) function) the AEB will not reactivate after an ignition cycle as per the requirements set out under ADR 98/00 - Advanced Emergency Braking for Passenger Vehicles and Light Goods Vehicles.

Due to a software issue, the Hybrid Powertrain Control Module (HPCM) may inadvertently shift to neutral while driving, come to a stop and automatically shifting to “Park”. If this occurs and the driver shifts back into drive, the vehicle will enter a limp home mode which provides limited torque at low speeds.

2021–2023 Ford MUSTANG

Due to a manufacturing defect, the low-pressure fuel delivery line may not meet specifications. This could result in the vehicle encountering fuel evaporation outside the requirements of Emissions Standards Regulations.

2022–2023 Ford Mach-E and E-Transit

The charge cables fitted to the vehicles are missing the required Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) certification label specified by the Electrical Equipment Safety Systems / Australian Communications Media Authority, EESS/ACMA (RCM AS/NZS 4417.1).

2023–2024 Ford Transit Custom

Due to a software issue within the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) the Lane Change Warning Assist (LCWA) feature may not operate as intended. As a result, there is an increased chance of a collision with another vehicle.

2021–2023 Ford F-150

The courtesy lamps fitted in the vehicles do not comply with the requirements set out in the Australian Design Rules (ADR).

2021 Ford ESCAPE

Due to a manufacturing defect, over time and under certain conditions friction and excessive movement in the steering gear could result in a loss of steering control.

2021–2023 Ford F150 F150 RHD Long Wheel Base

The vehicle may have been fitted with side direction indicator lamps that do not comply with the Australian Design Rule 13/00 – Installation of Lighting and Light Signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles.

2023 Ford F150

The clock spring electrical connection between the steering wheel airbag, horn and electrical systems may not have been welded to specification and possibly fail. If this occurs, it could result in a loss of steering wheel illumination, non-functioning steering wheel control switches, inoperative horn, and the airbag warning light will illuminate which may result in the driver’s airbag becoming inoperative.

2022–2023 Ford F 150

Due to a remanufacturing process issue, the steering intermediate shaft may separate from the steering rack resulting in a loss of steering control.

2023 Ford Transit Custom

Due to incomplete software update, the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) may not operate as intended. As a result, sensors and cameras yellow warning light will not illuminate in the instrument cluster to assist the driver to detect nearby obstacles or driver errors.

2019–2023 Ford Mustang

Due to a software issue, the brake fluid warning light may not illuminate as intended to warn the driver if the brake fluid level is low. As a result, insufficient brake fluid could lead to a reduction in braking performance.

2020–2023 Ford F150

Due to a manufacturing issue, the electric parking brake wiring harness may contact and chafe against the rear axle housing. If this occurs, it could lead to an unintentional parking brake application whilst driving resulting in a loss of vehicle control.

2021–2023 Ford Transit

The rear-view camera may not display the rear-view image whilst reversing as intended.

2023 Ford Puma

A manufacturing defect in the wiring harness of the rear boot lid may cause intermittent operation of the rear-view camera, loss of satellite radio reception, inoperative luggage compartment lamp and/or inoperable luggage compartment release.

2019–2023 Ford Escape PHEV

Due to a manufacturing issue, the engine may fail prematurely. If this occurs, engine oil and/or fuel vapor could be released into the engine bay and accumulate in the presence of ignition source resulting in a vehicle fire.

2018 Ford Endura

Due to a manufacturing defect, brake fluid may leak from the front brake flexible hoses. This could cause the brake fluid warning light to illuminate and may result in reduced braking efficiency.

2021–2022 Ford Ranger and Everest

The internal circuit board of the remote control for ARB/WARN VR EVO winches can corrode if exposed to water. Corrosion of the remote control’s circuit board may cause the winch’s cable to stop, wind up or release unexpectedly.

2022 Ford Ranger, Everest

Due to a defect during assembly, some vehicles may have the driver’s seatbelt assembled incorrectly. This will reduce the effectiveness of the seatbelt in the event of an accident.

2021 Ford ESCAPE

Due to a manufacturing defect, vehicles fitted with a panoramic roof may have poor adhesion of the fixed glass panel and front roof panel to the roof frame. As a result, the panoramic roof panel and or front panel may detach from the vehicle.

2021 Ford FOCUS Certain 2022 Model Year Focus vehicles produced between 16th Sept 2021 and 24th Sept 2021

Due to a manufacturing issue, the sunroof frame may not have been bonded correctly to the body and could become loose and detach from the vehicle.

2019–2022 Ford Escape

The front engine shield and the Active Grille Shutter (AGS) system located under the front of the vehicle requires modifications. In the event of an engine failure and oil/fuel rupture, oil/fuel might be trapped in the engine compartment. An oil/fuel accumulation in the presence of an ignition source may cause a vehicle fire.

2018–2020 Ford MUSTANG

Due to a manufacturing issue, the rear-view camera display, reverse lamps, and various driver assist features may not operate as intended. The driver will receive warning signals in the instrument cluster.

2019–2022 Ford Fiesta, Focus

Due to a manufacturing issue, the right-hand engine oil separator may have been damaged prior to engine assembly and may result in an oil leak. An oil leak in the presence of an ignition source may cause a vehicle fire. If this was to occur, vehicle occupants may identify an oil smoke odour when driving or smoke emanating from the underhood area.

2013–2017 Ford ECOSPORT

The hood insulator may become damaged and come in contact with hot engine components resulting in an engine bay fire.

2016–2021 Ford Ranger and Everest

The mounting bolts that are used for the Rhino Rack Sunseeker awning may not meet manufacturing specifications and could break. If the bolts break this can lead to the awning becoming detached.

2018–2019 Ford FOCUS

The transmission stud may chafe on the engine wiring loom. The engine warning light may also illuminate.

2020 Ford TRANSIT

Due to a manufacturing fault, the vehicle's rear driveshaft bearing support bracket may hold the driveshaft at the incorrect angle, causing excessive wear to the driveshaft over time.

2020 Ford TRANSIT, TRANSIT CUSTOM

The vehicles may be fitted with front lower control arms that contain incomplete welds, which may lead to fracture of the component.

2016–2019 Ford TRANSIT

The electronic Run-on Water Pump (ROWP) fitted to certain Transit and Transit Custom vehicles aids cooling after the engine has been stopped. Vehicles have been built with a 15A fuse to protect the ROWP in case of failure. If the ROWP fails, the 15A fuse will not prevent the ROWP from overheating.

The vehicle's tie rod end may prematurely fail due to dry steering.

1998–1999 Ford COURIER

Affected vehicles may be fitted with a Takata NADI 5AT driver airbag inflator that could allow moisture to enter the unit and degrade the airbag propellant. If this occurs, the properties of the propellant may be changed so that the propellant does not react as intended during a collision, causing misdeployment of the airbag.

2014–2018 Ford MONDEO

Battery acid may leak around the battery negative terminal. If copper sulphate builds up over time, this could provide a low-resistance conductive layer underneath the Battery Monitoring Sensor and may cause the surrounding material to heat up and ignite. This may occur when the vehicle is parked and unattended.

2018 Ford RANGER

In some of the affected vehicles, the front brake caliper material may not meet specification, causing the caliper to crack. If the front brake caliper cracks, the brake system warning lamp of the instrument cluster will illuminate.

2016–2018 Ford RANGER

Some vehicles may be fitted with front flexible brake hoses that are prone to failure where the brake hose has developed a twist when assembled to the vehicle. This could create a tight bend in the hose that causes the inner and outer hose layers to wear when driven over extreme bumps that require greater suspension travel. If the front brake hose fails, the brake system warning lamp of the instrument cluster will illuminate.

2010–2016 Ford FIESTA & RANGER

In affected vehicles, the pawl spring tab in a side-door latch may break. This condition will typically prevent the door from latching.

0 Ford F150

Incorrect tension of the electronic rack drive belt by the rack supplier may result in the belt fitted to the electronic steering rack pushing to one side, leading to premature wearing out of the belt. When this occurs, it will affect the smoothness of the steering, causing the steering to feel uneven or with too much play.

0 Ford EcoSport

On affected vehicles, engine vibration could cause timing belt tensioner spring failure, resulting in loss of engine timing. Loss of engine timing may lead to engine shutdown/damage.

2018 Ford EVEREST

The seat cushion frame may not be to specification. Failure of one or more of these welds may cause: - Noise between separated components - Displacement/Deformation of the seat cushion frame - Incomplete/Irregular motion of the seat during adjustment

Affected vehicles may be fitted with a Front Lower Control Arm with faulty welds. Lower Control Arm weld failure could cause the front wheel assembly to hit the wheelhouse and/or fender.

If the engine overheats this can result in an oil leak, leading to loss of engine oil.

0 Ford EVEREST/RANGER

In certain affected vehicles, the intermediate steering shaft weld may not meet required specifications, which may cause the steering column to detach from the steering gear.

The airbag initiators within the driver knee airbag and/or side airbag modules may be defective.

2012–2016 Ford FOCUS/KUGA

The clutch assembly may overheat as a result of excessive clutch slip. This condition could cause the clutch pressure plate to crack and/or fracture, which could damage the transmission assembly, allowing transmission fluid to leak.

2016–2018 Ford RANGER

When driven over long grass affected vehicles may accumulate vegetation under the vehicle near the exhaust system.

2015–2016 Ford RANGER

The gearshift cable retaining clip may not be securely fastened, which could lead to the gearshift cables making contact with the rear driveshaft.

2016–2017 Ford RANGER & EVEREST

The airbag initiators within the side airbag modules of certain Ranger and Everest vehicles may contain an incorrect chemical mixture.

2012–2014 Ford KUGA

In the event of an impact which deploys the front seat belt retractor pre-tensioner, there is a possibility that the insulation material on the inner face of the lower 'B' pillar trim could be subjected to a concentrated heat source that could ignite the insulation material.

2011–2015 Ford FOCUS

Certain vehicles under particular environmental conditions may ingest excessive levels of dust, which may block the carbon canister during a purge cycle. This could cause the fuel tank to reach vacuum levels that exceed design limits.

2012–2014 Ford ECOBOOST KUGA & ECOBOOST ST FIESTA

In all of the affected vehicles, localised overheating of the engine cylinder head, due to a lack of coolant circulation, may cause the cylinder head to crack, causing an oil leak.

2015–2016 Ford MUSTANG

A number of 5.0L Mustang vehicles may have reduced clearance between the battery cable wiring loom and the exhaust manifold.

2011–2012 Ford SZ TERRITORY, PX RANGER

There is a possibility that an intermittent Output Shaft Speed Sensor failure may result in an unintended downshift into first gear.

2014–2015 Ford MONDEO

There is a possibility that due to a software error within the Headlight Control Module (HCM), vehicles fitted with Adaptive LED Headlamps could experience a condition that causes the headlamps to switch off.

The rear axle housing weld may crack resulting in an oil leak and potentially resulting in partial or full separation of the wheel assembly from the axle assembly.

0 Ford Ranger

The rear folding seatback latch spring may break causing the latch mechanism to fail, potentially preventing the rear seatback from locking into the upright position.
